"You Know We're Living in a Society" - George Costanza

I've been in South Florida for more than five weeks now, but it's a location that I will never get accustomed to. While I'm living in a comfortable spot, enjoying the very warm weather, and getting in quite a bit of play time, it's crazy here.

There are far more Walgreen's than green trees, drivers texting to their hearts' content (at high speed), and more concrete than I've seen in a very, very long time. I shake my head on a daily basis at the sameness of the (expensive) housing developments, the multitude of shopping plazas, and the wide, high-speed roadways of never-ending cars.

As I consciously attempt to remain a civilized member of society, it isn't very easy to do. And, while I may regret not spending more time with friends here, I am shopping for a new homestead (a three-season tent), and dreaming of waking up to the sounds of Mother Nature.

Paul and I drove down Ocean Road in Narragansett yesterday. Acres of land once treed that belonged to a retreat for group of nuns had been leveled. Large sign for major housing development. Town had chance to buy and keep green but chose not to, sad.

Like idea of re-gifting, we did that for neighborhood party. You really are the happy wanderer, but it seems you enjoyed Sebastian more. FYI, 5 new decks of cards from Victor and Claudia. Will take you on!

Eileen -
Yes, let's keep tearing down and pouring that concrete. The coasts are getting uninviting. There's no comparison of South Florida and Sebastian but how long before it just keeps moving up? In my lifetime for sure! If Florida ever gets cold, there will be no appeal!

I do like stepping in and out of life as it were. Have been shopping for a new tent! Quite exciting! Take me on? Ha! Get ready for serious competition! j.

Maggie Gal!!!
Indeed, change is right, but I don't mind! I cannot, however, deal with rude! Pondering new options as you can imagine and enjoying the weather. Let's hope for a mellow, enticing 2017! Hope to see you! j.

Looks like a very Merry Christmas with friends. Love the photo of the Church you attended on Christmas. It must be quite large to fit the manger in front of the altar.
I hope you can find the perfect location that isn't so highly developed. It seems to be the same everywhere you look.
Here's to a Happy New Year in 2017!

Thanks, and Happy New Year, too. I'm not looking to settle in one place yet so not too worried about location. Moving on from here in a week and will see what the universe brings!
