Professional Writer & Editor

Picture

The web has given new meaning to the phrase, "I'm a writer".

In some ways, it has created an unimaginable opportunity for insightful, creative, and "fundamentally correct" writing to be published by people all over the world.  In other ways, it has allowed great minds (and some not-so-great) to spew on endlessly without a gatekeeper while believing they are communicating.

Call me old-fashioned when it comes to writing well, and I will take it as a compliment. Whether I'm writing a feature article, a blog entry or a web page, I adhere to a tried-and-true process:
  • Define the key message, and supporting details
  • Organize thoughts and ideas into an interesting, logical flow
  • Determine the appropriate voice to express the feeling of the piece
  • Write, edit, re-write until it's just the right words
  • Read, edit, re-read so the writing is rhythmic
  • Use consistent and correct punctuation, spelling, and grammar

Beyond this approach, my knowledge base stems from more than 25 years of progressive, professional experience in strategic marketing, event planning, content development, and media relations.  I begin every project  with the reader in mind, and as needed, I interview subject matter experts, perform research, and synthesize information from multiple sources to create exactly what you need.

Take a look at the list of my services, then contact me for work samples, references, or a project quote. .
