Whoever developed that tagline for Utah deserves an award! I was mesmerized by Southern Utah, and truly needed 2 weeks there; one to the East and one to the West. I also had 2 days of thunderstorms & flash flood warnings that interfered with my itinerary but didn't keep me in my tent. I did not see Zion, the Arches, Capital Reef or Cedar Breaks (the turnaround list is getting longer). Indeed, there were choices to make, and what choices they were. While I couldn't catch any critters in a click, I did see antelope, mule deer, and those oh-so-adorable prairie dogs. I'll let the photos tell the story but I must say that while I've arrived in the Grand Tetons, my heart & soul are still in Southern Utah.

Finally got to catch up on your posts and pics. Wow what beautiful sights you've seen!! I promise to be in touch soon. My little "prairie dog" has been sick on and off for three weeks, so add that to the craziness. Keep on, keepin' on!

What gorgeous photos! The rock formations were unbelievable! Walt Disney could never duplicate that. What a great trip you are having and it seems to me that your choices of what to view were thoughtfully planned.

J - yes southern Utah with hikes and mountain bike rides is epic. Judge by your path Yellowstone must be soon. Great pictures. New bike on radar, but wow the carbon fiber rental hooked me. Keep doing the good things your doing.

Gary, RUN don't want to this beautiful place! Calf Creek was looking for a 2-month camp host when I was there; pondered that one! j
