With little more than two weeks remaining, I put the brakes on "seeing & doing everything possible" and decided it was time to be on vacation! I was nearing Christchurch (my departure city), and opted to spend a length of time in the mountains at Mount Cook National Park, then a leisurely week as a tourist in Christchurch.

Brian -- Nice to have you visiting! Yes, NZ was quite an experience and I'm glad I've now taken the time to spend some time with photos and notes and put my arms around this trip. I'll be in touch soon as I move toward Stuart, FL on 2/2. J.

Ok, sounds good, maybe we can get a bike ride in, when you get to Fl.

Beautiful photos capturing a truly "very-inclusive itinerary"---mountains, glaciers, seashore, etc. Beautiful photo atop Tarns Trail (yes, "Stairway to Heaven" did play in my head). Marveling at labor-intensive, smart project of 2,000+ steps to welcome all to mountain. Am also impressed with the clean, manicured land/city-scapes of Christchurch. Favorite photo: uniform, linear lines of umbrellas below pastel buildings. Just lovely.

AMG: So glad you visited through this journey! You can now guess how difficult it was to answer "so how was New Zealand?" Yes, I'm glad I spent the time to re-live it. Two more items and I can start 2019! J.

Barb ~ Thanks for sticking with me on this! YES, I was practically bald from a haircut in NZ; I'm just now combing my hair :). I was stunned with the Cathedral, too -- visited then went to service there; friendly people! Starting to think about the new year! xo J.
