Yes, February 1 marks the start of 2019 for me, so I celebrated with a good friend over Thai food and a large vodka to ease my way in to the year! Actually, the past 7 weeks have felt like 2018 1/2, as I've not been sitting in place, but feeling stuck by my "to do" list. Returning from New Zealand one week before Christmas dropped me right into the holidaze which was disorienting, but enjoyable. With numerous family members not well through most of 2018, it was a surprisingly fun season after all. Of course, winter weather was in full swing, so I didn't hang around too long to experience the cold and dark indoor life that taunts my body, mind and soul. Quite rapidly, I made it to Greenville, South Carolina for three nights to peruse the city in its winter mode. It's a location that continues to float in my mind as a relocation spot, but I'm not sure I really have a feeling for what the culture is there. Heading east, I then enjoyed a couple of nights on Dataw Island visiting very happy former-Maryland friends who are living the good life in low country. By January 4th, I was 1,750 miles south of Massachusetts in warm Pompano Beach. With great thanks to a friend, I had an affordable condo for January, a month that has its weather ups and downs even in South Florida. While it was pleasant weather to walk, cycle and socialize, there was nearly a week of rain that seemed to never end. Between weather, lack of campsites, and a long to do list, I was quite happy to have this spot to be far south and see many familiar faces. I'm now happily back in my tent, however, after four(!) months of living indoors one way or another. It actually took some organizing and planning for me to get back in my element, but I'm quite fortunate that my first stop is one I've been coveting for 2-3 years and I'm quite happy here along the St. Lucie canal. Indeed, I plan to float between this spot in Stuart to Fort Pierce and Sebastian throughout the month of February. I'm in my comfort zone with many thoughts and possibilities for the remainder of the year.

Hey J, Just checking in to see where you are and what your plans are. Campsite looks lovely. If you are looking for a late March, May, June or July workaway, come help me move. There would be plenty of MoscNow Mules and a few Franjelica Davises. Many more feminist libations in the mix. Room and board included of course. And lots of new bike paths to explore. Planting the seed.

Judy: Another snow storm in MA and envy your greenery and sunshine. Looking at that tent that would have blown to the next state with our 30 to 40 mile winds. Seems like FL only spot with sunshine.

Eileen: Amazingly it's now TOO HOT for February for me in Stuart -- mid-80s and feels hotter! Nights with a low of 70! Crazy hot. Return north to Sebastian in a week which seems about right for temps! Hope you're now enjoying South Carolina weather! J.

You always make me want to go camping, but it's not quite as warm here in Oregon as it is in Florida in February. So I'm going to make do with looking at your pictures for now. Thanks Judy!

Kathy -- Thanks for visiting! Yes, the madness of Florida is quite inviting as I look at the weather in MOST of the US of A this year! Hanging out through March! Nice camping in Oregon in summer :). Judy G
