It's my last night in the Rocky Mountains as I hit the road again at dawn. I've been lax in my blog entries these past couple of weeks but not for lack of thoughts or activity. On the contrary, I've been a bit crazily busy wrapping up my volunteer days, keeping my freelance work going, spending time with some wonderful people, and enjoying the great outdoors. The mountain tops have a dusting of snow now but we've continued to enjoy a gorgeous fall. Amidst a challenging work environment (changes are in the midst), I've had a few bike rides and even more than a few hikes along the trails to scenic water views. I've also eaten far too many calorie-packed meals at the continuous all-you-can-eat buffets so it's time to get back to grazing and pedaling as I continue to head East. I hope you enjoy the highlights of my last 2 weeks! Next up is a quick run through Kansas and Missouri with Kentucky the next stop to write home about! NOTE: To those of you who have been following for some time, the Austin City Limits performance I attended airs tonight & I'll be viewing it with hawk eyes. I also want to add a comment on the Grand Canyon. If you recall my rant on June 5th, re: "When will it stop?", you can say you heard it here first -- a possible valet service? Really?

Hi Judy -- Love Fern Lake and Sky Pond best... the Fall River Visitor Center is priceless. What's your route after Kentucky?

Barb, Now catching up with life in Kansas! Will report in on Kentucky when I can as I am setting up the tent at Land Between the Lakes for a few nights. From there, Tennessee. Stay tuned.

Wow. Also, in love with my Celestial Seasons Red Zinger postcard! So many flashbacks , and as extensions to that, memories of the big FR including hanging out with your brother Ken and living two flights above your sister Anne. And forever imprinted in my brain, no matter how far I travel, our week in Bermuda. All that in a tea bag. Safe travels.

BO ... indeed, visiting Celestial Seasonings felt like a rite of passage! Sent a card to you & the 2 Donnas; my tea pals!? FYI, somewhere in the 100 sq feet of stuff I own is the record, "Bermuda is another world". Can you just hear the tune :). Tomorrow, Kentucky!

LOL about the Bermuda tune which I can hear as clear as day and still sometimes conjure the image of our rum-filled boat trip and the newly wed couple -- women with the massive diamond ring and (sorry, no offense intended ) her dufus husband-- and how liberating it was to feel happy for but not be them. Also, our mopeds. Cant wait to hear about Kentucky, a state I have only flown into to get to Ohio.

Wow, wow, wow!! just love your adventures! My life quite simple ~ my Mom had quite a stroke 3 weeks ago and my brother Dave found her in the den and called 911. She was in hospital for a week and down the hall for the last two for all therapies. Jackie next tour is a au-acute rehab center. Some progress, but she needs LOTS more.
