A Day in the Life of an Austin Tourist

4/11/2015

Shockingly, it is mid-April, and I am planning my Austin departure for mid-May so panic is setting in. I now have 16 items on my "to do in Austin" list! as well as two side trips: hill country and San Antonio. So, this past Monday, I was feeling sick (of going to work) and took a day to catch up on life (auto registration expiring!), and to begin my life as a tourist vs. temp Austin resident. While I planned my start at The Texas Capitol, after a cold one & nutrition at the Austin Ale House, I literally stumbled upon some sites. Photos tell all. In 1-2 weeks, I go into total Austin tourist mode so stay tuned!

Brings back the great conversation we all had with our "kids" Ryan and Liz from Frisco. Much in common it seems with Maryland as far as government goes.... I will try and email as soon as I get time to breathe, but this couldn't wait.......JASON AND MEGAN ARE ENGAGED! :)

Hi Judy -- wondering if Austin is really as cool and not Texas as everyone says. Love your photos. And fun to read Karen's post. Makes me wonder about all of your nieces and nephews and where they are. Remember how they used to call me pencil? Still wonder why!!!! So effing busy that I dream about a moment of free time that lasts more than a moment. Cheers to all your adventures.

Hi Barb:
had to let you know they called you "pencil" because you were so thin, like a pencil.

I too am enjoying reading Judy's blogs. Wish I could be that adventurous!

Besides working too hard, hope all is well..............Claudette

Hold off on your San Antonio trip for 2 weeks. Lori & I will be there the week of Apr 26th for our house hunting adventure. Would love to see you. I'll call the week before to see what you're doing.

David: I can travel Sun/Mon/Tues that week but not the rest of the week. Could also travel first week of May. Send details ASAP. I want to book an AirBnB room for one night! Thx, J.

J your pictures are really good. Much more to Austin than I realized. Wait every American has a constitutional right to a job they don't want to go to. Yesterday we had a beautiful bay to ocean ride in Bethany beach de, 70 degrees blue sky. This ride had your name all over it.

ED!!! Good to hear from you! I LOVE that Bay to Ocean Ride and indeed, I've done it a couple of times. It was always my spring training motivation. Sorry I missed it & I'm missing the crew! Keep checking on Gary Clark, Jr, BTW --- he's in Dover, DE on 6/15! but nowhere near Austin!

Austin looks awesome! Hey did you get to check out any SXSouthwest music? Loved your Palm Sunday story 😊

Donna: I did not partake of SXSW; it's for tourists :). Actually, finding it hard to find time to get in all of Austin & surroundings. That said, blog updates coming; I'm 2 weeks and 4 events behind! j.
